As I said earlier, I'm working on this massive racing game timeline and that means looking up tons of pictures on racing games I seldom remember. Like Burnout 2. Oh hey, that was Burnout before the series sucked ass and...wait, what's that I see--
OMFG THE NUMBER 2
PANIC AND ZOOM IN BOTH NUMBERS NEXT TO EACH OTHER
We should consider ourselves fortunate they are NOT exactly the same but for a good minute or so, I thought they were. Clearly Criterion stole the scratchy number 2 idea from Sega seeing as Daytona 2 preceded Burnout 2 by a few years. JERKFACES.
Oh, and another funtastic thing I found...who died and made Raw Thrills the "#1 Game Studio"?

Funny. I never even realized that the two "2"s looked similar until now. lol
ReplyDeleteI actually remember playing Burnout 2. It was the only one I had from the franchise and actually liked. I tried Burnout: Revenge later, but thought that one focused on much more destruction rather than actual racing (much like the franchise is about now unfortunately).
Burnout 2... Too bad I lost the game disc. It was a pretty fun racer while I had it.
ReplyDeleteYou also forgot the stock car in the game. As if they weren't ripping off SEGA enough. XD
Yeah, there's a stock car in Burnout 2 then on. You can see it here: http://burnout.wikia.com/wiki/Oval_Racer_Special
ReplyDeleteThere's also an Indy Car & F1 Car in Burnout 3 then on. Ridiculous, but even for generic, phony baloney cars, at least Burnout has a decent variety.
