Yes, today (well...Sunday, it's 1:00 AM Monday now) was Superbowl XLV but it's also Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday. He was the 40th President of the United States of America, duh. Now whenever you talk about politicians, you tend to open a can of worms but I'm going to talk about this quote he said that I had written down for a very long time...:
"There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit." - Ronald Reagan
I mean behind every big thing, there's always hundreds of people who strive for the same thing. Let's do this, we're gonna do it, etc. But the credit (or discredit I say) always falls on the shoulders of one or two people. And then when you complete your task, you may not get that pat on the back you wanted beforehand. I think we've all experienced this somewhat.
So, if you tried to do good but knew you wouldn't get any credit for it, would you still do it anyway?
But I bring this up cause we're talking about saving Sega and making a new Daytona USA game and I must admit that I really want to get in there, work on it, and receive compliments for it. I want to have my "stamp" on it. But assuming that the game does get made in the first place, there's no telling what I'll get out of it. But I'd rather see the game made than to get credit for it because the game means that much to me.
It's brutal to think about because the game industry is a rough business, relying on large teams of people who vie to take control and live out their dreams. I might help make 0.0001% of the game and Nagoshi swoops in after this tanning/drinking session and takes credit for it again cause he's the genius. Oh well, that's the breaks and I always have this blog to authenticate what I really did.
This post is so stupid, but you really gotta think about it. Think about goals in your life. Like the Nike commercial says, "Just do it." Screw the hype. I started this blog, made good grades in school, and busted my ass on those Counter-Strike maps not to receive admiration, but because they make ME happy. And there's a lot of hard workers in this world who don't receive that much support either, but they work anyway. Just go for your goals, buddy. Work with all your heart for the Lord, not for men. That's what Colossians 3:23 says.
